[China Packaging News] recently, it was reported from Taixing economic development zone that the 1.1 million ton/year light hydrocarbon comprehensive utilization project of Xinpu olefin (Taixing) Co., Ltd., an enterprise in the zone, is currently in trial operation to open up all links of the system, and it is planned to be formally put into operation in August this year. The successful operation of the project will indicate that Taixing economic and Technological Development Zone will become the seventh chemical park with "big ethylene" in China
with a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan, the project can produce 650000 tons of ethylene, 120000 tons of propylene, 14500 tons of hydrogen, 45000 tons of C4, 30000 tons of methane and 45000 tons of pyrolysis gasoline, which can be filled with light weight. The project started construction in June 2016 and is planned to be formally put into operation in August this year. It is expected to increase the annual sales revenue by 10billion yuan and the annual tax revenue by 800million yuan after reaching the production capacity and effectiveness
compared with the traditional naphtha to produce ethylene, the 80.5% ethylene yield of this unit, which produces ethylene by cracking ethane and propane, is much higher than the 35% ethylene yield of the traditional process, and the production capacity of a single gas-phase cracking furnace in the project is the largest in the world. After the project is completed, it will change the situation that the ethylene raw materials of Taixing economic and Technological Development Zone mainly depend on foreign imports, fully realize self-sufficiency, and extend to PVC, polystyrene and other products downstream
